From 2022, SWISS HICKORY GOLF (SHG) will offer membership to all interested parties.

"Join in and actively support the hickory golf movement in Switzerland."

We want to make the game of hickory golf accessible to everyone,  women or men, young or old. In addition, we organize a couple of hickory golf events and trips every year, which are greatly reduced - or even exclusive - for members.

The focus should be on the enjoyable game of golf with historical equipment and clothing - but without neglecting a glass of wine or a cigar together ...

This is included:

Free SHG-MEMBER BAGTAG made of wood, which is open to everyone annually by January 31. to active members.

- Active support of the hickory golf game in Switzerland

- Participation and co-determination in the annual general meeting of SHG

- Annual exclusive SHG supporter (for all members registered by January)

- Reduction of CHF 25. for all golf events and trips organized by SHG in Switzerland and abroad, 3 to 5 events per year are planned

- Reduction in exclusive SHG articles (balls, clothing, accessories)

(One exclusive article is planned per year, shipping only in Switzerland)

- Reduction of CHF 25. when participating in the SWISS HICKORY OPEN

- Preferential consideration for limited articles / events / trips (members first)

The price of membership in SWISS HICKORY GOLF corresponds to the number of years since the first golf superstar, Harry Vardon, won the U.S. Open in 1900:

2022: 122 years = CHF 122.00

2023: 123 years = CHF 123.00

2024: 124 years = CHF 124.00

Harry Vardon - The Gentleman: Nobody played golf more elegantly than him. And nobody won the most prestigious tournament in the world more often than the smart Englishman in his knickerbockers. He was one of the most famous British professional golfers, a seven-time major winner and was considered the first golf superstar. As a child, growing up on the island of Jersey, he played little golf. As a teenager, he was inspired by his older brother, Tom, and by the age of 20 Vardon became a professional golfer.

He was the first of his guild to play golf in knickerbockers.

In 1896, Vardon won his first of six Open Championships, and in 1900 he became the first international golf celebrity to travel to the United States. Vardon played more than 80 matches there and won the U.S. Open that year. Twenty years later, at the age of fifty, Vardon took second place in this major. As world champion in 1913 he played the legendary US Open final against Francis Ouimet, which is the focus of one of the best golf films of all time "The Greatest Game Ever Played".
